S-type load cells, also known as tension load cells, are used in tension-weighing applications to convert suspended tanks or other hanging devices into weighing systems. The cells use a reliable strain gauge design with excellent measurement stability. Pair the load cells with optional tension weigh modules to integrate a complete solution into your system.
METTLER TOLEDO offers a wide range of S-type load cells with capacities from 50 kg to 10 t (50 lb to 22 klb) and in nickel-plated alloy steel or stainless steel construction. They are available in legal-for-trade accuracy levels according to OIML R60 (OIML C3) and NTEP HB44 (NTEP 5000d). Tension load cells are available for hazardous area applications and are approved according to ATEX, FM (Factory Mutual), and cFM (Canada). They meet ingress protection class IP67.
